Jing Lang

President

 

Jing Lang founded Deepwork Academy after sixteen years of technical and leadership experience across diverse roles in the actuarial profession. Jing is passionate about empowering actuaries with AI, leveraging AI to revolutionize the insurance industry, and bringing creative solutions to complex problems.

Jing has held Vice President roles in several business areas at a global reinsurer, led a pricing team at a Property & Casualty crown corporation, and built the product, pricing, and underwriting functions at a leading insurtech.

In 2023, Jing took a sabbatical to dive into artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. She also took courses and specializations offered by DeepLearning.AI and Stanford University.

In 2024, Jing was featured in the inaugural AI course provided by the Society of Actuaries’ Online Learning Center, and she was nominated to represent the Canadian Institute of Actuaries at the AI Summit in Singapore.

She is a community manager for a soon-to-be-announced learning platform empowering AI for actuaries.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Jing hosts and co-produces the Be Brilliant with Jing Lang podcast. She enjoys writing and staying active through calisthenics.

Together with her husband Tony and foster fail cat Chai, they have fostered 35 felines (and counting.)
